Facial aging begins as early as your 20’s and becomes more and more noticeable over the years, especially in the face and neck. Wrinkle relaxers are a quick, safe way to bring back youthfulness and revitalize your features. Botox, Juvederm, and Restylane are prescription medications that we use for such procedures.
The process is simple: we inject filler into the muscles, depending on the area you’d like to focus on. This improves the look of frown lines and other signs of aging for a period of time. As fillers gradually become absorbed by the body, our patients typically receive follow-up treatments every 6 to 12 months.
Advantages of Wrinkle Relaxers
Botox and other wrinkle relaxers provide a wide variety of benefits to patients. Here are just a few of the ways a filler treatment may be right for you:
- Improve the appearance of wrinkles around problem areas such as the mouth and eyes
- Helps restore more smooth and youthful-looking skin
- Improves confidence and self-esteem
Cosmetic improvements aren’t the only benefits Botox has to offer. It may even help treat arthritis pain, decrease frequent migraines, and alleviate excessive sweating for those suffering from hyperhidrosis.
Since the filler treatment process only takes a few minutes and is relatively painless, there is no anesthesia required. A narrow gauge syringe will be used to inject the filler into the specific muscles, based on your desired results.
After the Procedure
Once the procedure has been completed, we’ll provide you with instructions on how to best care for the treated area. You will be advised to avoid lying down until several hours after treatment—doing so may cause the filler to move to an area other than where it is intended to be. You will also be advised against rubbing or touching the treated area for a minimum of 12 hours after the injection.
Results will start becoming more visible in 3-7 days. Side effects are very rare, but may include bruising, numbness, and swelling—all of which generally subside in a matter of days. Dry mouth, fatigue, headache, and drooping eyelids are also additional side effects.
